A Positive Thing that I'm Going to Do During the Mid-Semester Break is I want to learn how to make a chocolate macaroons. may be some of us do not know what is macaroons.


macaroon can be defined as is a type of light, baked confections, described as either small cakes ormeringue-like cookies depending on their consistency. The original macaroon was a "small sweet cake consisting largely of ground almonds" similar to Italian or Moroccan amaretti

The English word macaroon and French macaron come from the Italian maccarone or maccherone. This word is itself derived from ammaccare, meaning crush or beat,used here in reference to the almond paste which is the principal ingredient.

Most recipes call for egg whites (usually whipped to stiff peaks), with ground or powdered nuts, generally almonds. Alternatively, coconuts can be used. Almost all call for sugar. Macaroons are commonly baked on edible rice paper placed on a baking tray.

so i google the recipe how to make it.

first of all, we need to know their ingredients. what we need are :
140 gm. finely ground almond
225 gm. icing sugar
25 gm. cocoa powder
100 gm. egg white - at room temperature


then, the next step is the procedure :


.

1. Blend ground almond, cocoa powder and icing sugar until fine.
2. Whisk egg white till white and stiff.
3. Fold in the dry ingredients gently into the whites in three or four additions. When all the dry ingredients are incorporated, the mixture will look like a cake batter, if you lift with your finger, it should form a gentle, quickly falling peak.
4. Spoon mixture into a piping bag fitted with a plain nozzle. Pipe into small circles about 1" in diameter onto parchment paper with 1 inch distance. Rest macaroons for 20 mins.
5. Bake at 180C for 10 to 12 mins.
6. You will need to create moisture under the cookies. Carefully loosen the parchment paper, lifting the paper, pour a little hot water under the paper. The water may bubble and steam.
7. Allow the macaroons to remain on the parchment for about 20 seconds.
8. Peel the macaroons off the paper and place them on a cooling rack.
9. Sandwich them with either ganache, butter cream or ice-cream.

Because students who is actually determine their campus rule.By campus election,they will decide a leader in their campus.The leader will design the rule and propose to the dean.If they choose the right person to be their leader,the leader will take their 'voice' seriously.If not,the person will take the advantage and make themselves more popular.
Popular?yes.somebody took part in the election just to get more popularity.Such a typical reason.*sigh

Some students think that election is not an important matter.But,by this election,they get what they want in their campus.the candidate is their channel to state their voice.

The leader that have been choice must do their work sincerely.Trust of a  thousand's student must be hold tightly.

Then,as I believe,election is important in every campuses.Because through them,our voice is count.

W5 - Great Leaders are Not Born, They are Made

“Leaders are made, they are not born. They are made by hard effort, which is the price which all of us must pay to achieve any goal that is worthwhile.”

Defining Leadership

Let’s assume leadership means having an ability and desire to inspire and influence others. Based on that definition, we can certainly see the argument that leaders are born with leading qualities when we see the eldest in sibling using their inherent ability to influence their little brother or sister (and sometimes their parents) to do the things they wants them to do.

If leadership means being courageous and willing to speak out for the betterment of those around you, we would think that leaders do not have to be born as such. we have seen people who consider themselves introverts and overall followers become successful leaders when faced with an issue they are passionate about.

If we define leadership as having atypical intelligence, creativity and/or drive, then we are back to believing that it’s a trait you’re born with, although you may or may not continue to develop that trait through your life.

So what does all this mean?

Anyone Can Be a Leader
We all have areas of our lives where we have talent and propensity for success. If this is also an area you feel passionate about, you may exude qualities that are absent from other areas of your life. So while you may not be a natural born leader in the strictest sense, you can certainly overcome many obstacles and develop a desire and ability to lead when you are inspired to do so.

Let’s look at an example.

Say you are an animal lover, and you volunteer for an animal rescue group in your free time. The group is planning a huge fundraiser but lacks the direction necessary to execute it effectively. Without a leader in place, the event is destined for failure. You may not be completely comfortable talking in front of others, making decisions for a group and managing others, but you feel so strongly about the need for the fundraiser that you are willing to overcome these challenges. With the support of several volunteers who are experienced in various areas (marketing, event planning, community outreach, etc.), and your knowledge of the group and the background of the fundraiser, you successfully manage the group and event. Possible? Absolutely.

Developing Leadership

Aside from having a passion that translates into action, there are several ways you can develop your own leadership skills:

1.Work on improving your communication ability, especially your ability to listen to others

2.Be willing to take risks

3.Network and look for ways to expand your contacts

4.Focus on working and living with integrity and respect for others

5.Encourage those around you to find their own leadership qualities
